The Beginnings: A Young Prodigy

Agustín Tapia was born in San Fernando del Valle de Catamarca, Argentina. From an early age, padel became his main passion, inspired by the greats of the sport—especially the legendary Fernando Belasteguín. At just 15 years old, he made a life-changing decision: to leave his hometown and move to Rosario to train with the best.

From Early Steps to the International Stage

His dedication and sacrifices soon paid off. After climbing the ranks of the Argentine national circuit, Tapia moved to Spain to compete with the world’s elite. In 2020, his dream came true when, playing alongside his idol Belasteguín, he won the Master Final of the World Padel Tour, becoming the youngest champion in the tournament’s prestigious history.

The Rise and Climb to the Top of the World Rankings

Tapia’s full potential emerged in 2023 when he formed a winning duo with Spaniard Arturo Coello. Together, they dominated the season with an astonishing streak of 45 consecutive wins and secured 14 Premier Padel titles. Their on-court chemistry quickly propelled them to the top of the international rankings, ending the year with an almost unbeatable record: 93 victories and only 6 losses.
